  1. Completion of all underwater work – ensure hull cleaning, painting, and inspection are finished.
  2. Sea valves and suctions closed – all blanks refitted and valves secured watertight.
  3. Manholes and tank covers refitted – all internal openings to sea confirmed shut and tightened.
  4. Rudder, propeller, shaft and fittings secure – confirm no tools, staging, or debris remain in place.
  5. Dock blocks and shores checked – remove equipment or obstructions from around vessel supports.
  6. Personnel safety – ensure no workers remain in the dock area below waterline.
  7. Communication established – clear line of communication between dockmaster, vessel, and workers.
  8. Emergency arrangements in readiness – fire pumps, bilge pumps, and lighting available during flooding.
  9. Dock structure checked – caissons, pumps, and valves inspected for correct operation before admitting water.
